Packages

A package is a reusable group of blocks stored on your computer. Use packages when the same steps appear in more than one workflow, instead of copying and pasting.

Packages live in the extension’s local storage. They are not a cloud library and are not published to the workflow store.

Manage packages

Open Packages in the left sidebar of the SoloForces dashboard (/packages).

From there you can:

  • Create a new package
  • Open and edit an existing package
  • Delete packages you no longer need

Editing a package feels like editing a workflow, but a package has no workflow table or global data.

Create a package

From the Packages page

  1. Open Packages.
  2. Click New package.
  3. Enter a name and description, then build the blocks inside the package editor.

From a workflow editor

  1. Select the blocks you want (Shift + drag, or select individually).
  2. Right-click and choose Set as package.

Use a package in a workflow

  1. Open a local workflow in the editor.
  2. Click the package icon in the canvas top bar.
  3. Find the package in the list at the bottom and drag it onto the canvas.

How it is inserted depends on the package setting Set as block:

SettingWhat happens
OnOne package block appears on the canvas
OffThe package’s blocks are copied onto the canvas as normal blocks

Turn Set as block on or off in the package’s Settings tab while editing the package.

Inputs and outputs (when used as a block)

Right-click a block input or output inside the package and mark it as the package block’s input or output. Those ports then appear when you use the package in a workflow.

Limits inside a package

A package cannot contain:

  • A Trigger block
  • Another package block
  • An Execute Workflow block

Save

When you save a package, SoloForces shows a success or failure message. Packages are saved locally, same as local workflows.
